OUR PROJECTS

The Discovery of Flight Foundation's projects are all based in research and dedicated to education and inspiration. We work closely with museums, schools, and parks to create engaging, interactive experiences that demosntrate the fundamentals of innovative thinking.

Please contact us if you are interested in pursuing a project based in early flight (pre-1912) with education as its goal. Our previous and current partners include:

- The National Air and Space Museum
- The National Park Service (Wright Brothers national Memorial)
- The Museum of Flight, Seattle
- The College Park Aviation Museum
- Arlington County Public Schools
- Fairfax County Public Scools
- Fauquier County Public Schools

There is something about Wright Flyers - their outstanding engineering, thier secrets still to be discovered, thier roles as objects of wonder - that makes them perhaps the best examples of the process of innovation. Our projects center on exact reproductions, which can then be evaluated, flown, and demonstrated for all levels of students.

Please click below to learn more about our current and ongoing projects. Our main focus is the 1908, 1909, and 1910 Wright Aircraft to coincide with their Centennial years 2008, 2009, and 2010. Each will be airworthy, and each has a dedicated museum educational partner. We need your help to see them completed! Please click below to learn more.
